Auburn, Wash. (GRC) — This week volleyball and soccer both open with home matches. Followed by away contests later in the week.

Volleyball hosts Olympic College Monday August 31st, first serve at 6:00 p.m. in The Swamp. Last season the Gators beat the Rangers in straight sets on September 5th.

Wednesday brings Pierce College to town for a soccer West Region opener, a 1:00 p.m. kick-off at Wilson Playfields.
Green River forced a 1-1 tie with the Raiders during their second contest last season.

Friday volleyball heads to Pendleton, Oregon where they will face off with Wenatchee Valley for the second time this season (12:30 p.m. first serve) before taking on Blue Mountain at 5:30 p.m. Last season the black and green swept BMCC in the NWAC Crossover on September 12th. These game will be streamed on Blue Mountain's YouTube Page

Saturday has three GRC games on the docket. Soccer was an away game at Starfire against Highline at noon. The Thunderbirds were ranked third in the initial NWAC Coaches Poll. at 11:30 a.m. Right before soccer kicks off volleyball will face Walla Walla at 11:30 a.m. who they defeated last year 3-2 on August 30th followed by a battle with Chemeketa at 2:00 p.m. Both of these volleyball matches will be in Walla Walla, Washngton. All three of these games will be streamed on the NWAC Network.
