Kent, Wash. — A September rain storm had the Gators right at home, winning their west region opener over Pierce 4-1. 

Jazmyne DuBose opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a left footed shot from just outside the box over the outstretched arm of the Raider goalie. 

In the 23rd minute Luci Ramey received a break away pass down the right sideline from Bria Alabe and was able to sneak her shot through the top right corner to but GRC up 2-0.

The match entered halftime 2-0 in favor of the home team as the rain continued the fall. 

Ramey scored her second consecutive goal for the Gators in the 60th minute, as her left foot found a loose ball at the top of the box and snuck in it to the bottom right corner of the goal. 

DuBose added her second goal of the game only two minutes later an other assist from Alabe. This one came from inside the left edge of the box, as it scooted in to the bottom left corner of the net. Putting Green River up 4-0. 

On the season Ramey has a team high five goals, DuBose is right behind with four. 

This win moved the green and black to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in west region play. The Gators currently sit alone in third place in the region.

Next, GRC will take on #3 Highline on the road, kick off at noon on Saturday September 5th.
